We offer a newly built, traditional style cottage on the Orkney Island
of Hoy. If you are looking to get away from it all you could not hope for
a more peaceful and relaxing holiday by the seashore. Far away from the
bustle of town life, you can enjoy the wildflowers and bird life nearby
in an environment that is safe to let children run free.
There are also many activities to take part in - Hoy
is the most dramatic of all the Orkney Islands and has Orkney's tallest
hill - Ward Hill. From the summit you can see all of Orkney's Islands,
except the nearest, and on a really clear day you can see all the way to
Fair Isle. There's much to interest those interested in bird watching and
navel history as well - much of the island is a RSPB reserve and a museum
dedicated to the World War History of Scapa Flow is located at Lyness.
We are also within walking distance to Martello Tower. Take a look at our
About Hoy page for information on all the attractions on Hoy.
The very concept of living on an island is an adventure in itself - check out our Frequently Asked Questions page to find out extra information on the property, the ferries to Hoy, and some useful tips.
Check out the Cottage Interior page to see what you can expect
to find once you arrive at Pools Self Catering. Our
cottage is easy to get
to and is 2 miles from local amenities in the village of Longhope. We have
ample car parking facilities and offer a spacious cottage with all the home
comforts you might be used to - and more . . . take a look for yourself!
We look forward to welcoming you to Hoy and Pools Self Catering. If you have any questions or would like to enquire about availability, be sure to send us a quick message from our Contact Us page. We are a small Orcadian family-run business located close by Pools and we shall endevour to make sure you have an unforgettable stay on our beautiful island.
